Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Technician to join our team at Western State Hospital. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to our employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain employee time and leave records
- Comply with Hospital and State policy, as well as FLSA policies
- Initiate reports to meet critical deadlines established by the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Maintain internal controls on Comp Time, Year-End leave carryover, 90-day absences, Lost Time adjustments, and FMLA leave
- Make authorized corrections to time and/or leave records and maintain accessible records for audit purposes
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and general office procedures
- Skilled in analysis of fiscal transactions and performance of detailed mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately
- Ability to work under pressure and interpret policies and regulations, especially those established by FLSA and state guidelines
- Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing environment
- Must be able to utilize on-line systems, LANS, networks, and software packages such as Microsoft Office, Kronos, and Cardinal/Peoplesoft
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to work independently and with a team and ability to communicate with and assist employees when needed
Additional Considerations:
- State experience in field or Associate Degree or higher or equivalent combination of related studies in accounting and/or financial systems, or experience indicating ability to perform the functions of this position
Special Instructions:
