Fiscal Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiscal Technician to join our team at Western State Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the timekeeping system and records for the hospital and the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA), as well as our employees. This role will involve monitoring employee time and leave, complying with Hospital and State policy and FLSA policies, and initiating reports to meet critical deadlines established by the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor employee time and leave, ensuring compliance with Hospital and State policy and FLSA policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee time and leave
- Initiate reports to meet critical deadlines established by the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Collaborate with supervisors and employees to resolve time and leave-related issues

Requirements

- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and general office procedures
- Experience with timekeeping and payroll
- Skilled in analysis of fiscal transactions and performance of detailed mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately
- Ability to work under pressure and interpret policies and regulations, especially those established by FLSA and state guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Kronos, and Cardinal/Peoplesoft
