The Senior Certified Nursing Assistant provides expert-level care to residents in a long-term care setting. This role requires a high level of experience and expertise in nursing assistance, with a focus on delivering resident-centered care.
Responsibilities- Provides daily living assistance to assigned residents, including bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing/undressing.
- Assists with basic health care needs, such as obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
- Transfers, repositions, and walks residents using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Assists with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as appropriate.
- Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
- Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Participates in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
- Maintains all department-specific required certifications.
