About the Role

Savannah River Mission Completion is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tank Farms Operations First Line Manager to join our team at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct operator activities to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
  • Plan and coordinate work involving production and support groups to meet facility objectives
  • Review and approve lockout/tagout plans for hazardous energy control to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Ensure facility activities are conducted in accordance with plant procedures and technical standards
  • Approve maintenance, operations, construction, test, and surveillance activities that affect the facility or its equipment
  • Train and qualify operators for their activities and ensure they are physically fit to perform the work
  • Communicate with support organizations to ensure operating activities are started and completed as scheduled
  • Investigate abnormal events and remove equipment and systems from service as necessary
  • Direct emergency operations and train personnel in emergency activities
  • Perform periodic tours of the facility to observe activities and ensure they are being performed safely
  • Maintain logs and records of operating events in accordance with facility operating procedures
  • Account for special nuclear material through inventories, safeguards, and security and records management
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED and relevant nuclear experience within engineering, operations, and/or maintenance functions
  • Additional information: Deviations to education and/or experience requirements must follow DOE Order 426.2 protocols
  • Facility qualification process including extensive classroom, formal on-the-job training, and oral board examination conducted by facility management must be completed within one year
