Position Overview

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is on the lookout for three (3) Rheumatology Consultants to become part of the Department of Medicine. This role is integral to a prominent healthcare system dedicated to delivering exceptional medical services. The Rheumatology division is characterized by a dynamic practice that includes specialized clinics for conditions such as Lupus, joint pain, and arthritis, as well as facilities for ultrasound evaluations and biologic infusions.

The inpatient Rheumatology service is highly active, managing a significant volume of consultations daily. The department is part of a larger medical community that encompasses a diverse range of specialties, fostering a collaborative environment for healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Join the Department of Medicine as a full-time Rheumatology Consultant.
  • Engage in an academic practice supported by a prestigious medical college, contributing to the education of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Provide both inpatient and outpatient care, ensuring high-quality treatment for a diverse patient population.
  • Oversee a practice that serves a substantial number of unique patients, including those receiving advanced biologic therapies.
  • Participate in specialized clinics focused on various rheumatological conditions.
  • Contribute to a busy inpatient service with a high volume of daily consultations.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals in a teaching environment.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Board certification in Internal Medicine.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.
  • A valid New York State Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with ultrasound techniques is advantageous but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems, such as Epic, is desired, though training can be provided.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite is required, with training available.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
