Job Summary

The Education Support Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment in an assigned classroom. This position requires a team player who can support the curriculum, build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, and ensure a smooth daily routine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide coverage for classrooms during lunch, prep time, and other absences to support students and staff.
  • Assist with office duties, including answering calls and providing reception coverage.
  • Maintain classroom management, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Support student transitions and ensure a consistent daily schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with classroom staff and school administration regarding children's needs and issues.
  • Adhere to the Agency's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Position Details

This is a part-time position, working Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 2:30, with 25 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; New York State Teaching Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work positively with children and demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Prior experience in education or a related field is desirable.
  • Dependability, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach are essential.

Physical Demands

  • Demonstrate full range of motion and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Maintain mental and physical alertness to perform essential job requirements.
