Job Opportunity

The City of Berkeley is seeking a licensed physician to provide high-quality care to vulnerable patients in a collaborative community setting. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to members of the Berkeley community who are dealing with severe mental illness.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients with severe mental illness
  • Collaborate with high-caliber colleagues in a team-based model with case managers, excellent nursing staff, and great administrative support
  • Work with patients in an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model as well as more traditional models, across programs such as Homeless Full Services Partnership, Comprehensive Community Treatment, and Focus on Independence

Qualifications
  • Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school
  • Completion of the third year of a psychiatric residency training program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of California
  • Current Controlled Substance Registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration

Exam Process

The exam process will include, but may not be limited to, application review for minimum qualifications and required documents, tests, and other exercises or assessment procedures that test content and may include, but are not necessarily limited to, typing, math, reading, writing, and analytical skills; problem-solving ability; computer and software proficiency, or any other job-related knowledge, skill, ability, or qualification.

Pre-Employment Process
