Psychiatrist - Mental Health Specialist

The City of Berkeley is seeking a licensed physician to provide high-quality care to vulnerable patients in a collaborative community setting. As a Psychiatrist, you will provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to members of the Berkeley community who are dealing with severe mental illness.
Job Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients with severe mental illness
- Collaborate with high-caliber colleagues in a team-based model with case managers, excellent nursing staff, and great administrative support
- Work with patients in an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model as well as more traditional models, across programs such as Homeless Full Services Partnership, Comprehensive Community Treatment, and Focus on Independence
- Up to 10% additional pay for relevant board certifications
- Up to four weeks of vacation in the first year
- Standard office schedule (no nights, on-call, or weekends)
- Qualifying employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness + potential for up to $7,500 in student loan repayment
- Opportunity for clinic, field, and remote work
- Possession of an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school
- Completion of the third year of a psychiatric residency training program approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- Valid license to practice medicine issued by the State of California
- Current Controlled Substance Registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration
