Job Summary

Rady Children's Hospital - San Diego is seeking a skilled and experienced Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Travel Nurse to join our team. As a PICU Travel Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to critically ill children in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill children in the PICU and CVICU
  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements
  • Current CA RN license
  • 2 years of recent Level 4 experience or strong Level 3 RN from a Level 3 NICU that performs surgeries on newborns
  • Experience in specified equipment and procedures, including oscillator, conventional ventilator, CPAP, Nasal Cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC UVC PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes
  • Advanced NRP certification
  • Ability to work 3x12 variable or straight nights, every other weekend, and 14-week contracts only
Preferred Qualifications
  • PALS certification
  • Experience in RAPID Response Team membership
