Position Overview
This role is essential in maintaining a pristine environment at Azusa Pacific University. The Custodial Team Leader will oversee the nighttime custodial operations, ensuring that cleanliness standards are met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities
As a supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a diverse team of custodial staff and student workers. Your primary duties will include:

  • Scheduling custodial staff for designated night shift responsibilities.
  • Providing comprehensive training for new hires and student employees.
  • Monitoring and assessing employee performance to ensure efficient work procedures.
  • Conducting interviews and managing the hiring process for student workers.
  • Maintaining accurate records of supplies and equipment inventory.
  • Submitting and completing work orders using the TMA work order system.
  • Performing cleaning duties as needed, particularly during staff shortages.
  • Responding to work orders and call-outs across campus.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Five to seven years of custodial experience, with at least three years in a supervisory capacity.
  • A valid California Driver's License.

Skills and Abilities
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff effectively.
  • Proficiency in using various cleaning equipment and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in various environmental conditions.

Compensation
The hourly wage for this position ranges from $19.49 to $22.41, commensurate with experience and qualifications. A competitive benefits package is also offered.
