Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team at Northern Gear and Machining. As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining quality control systems, identifying required specifications, and designing automated testing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality control systems to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify required specifications per customer print and determine an appropriate level of variation.
  • Design automated testing systems and quality control workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Collect data on product errors and investigate possible solutions.
  • Document initial quality standards and actual product quality during production.
  • Find defects, determine causes, and assist in creating resolutions.
  • Teach production staff effective quality controls and supervise outcomes.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to solve problems.
  • Respond to questions about achieving quality goals and implement changes to reduce errors.

Requirements:

  • Determining quality improvement factors.
  • Implementing methods to inspect, test, and evaluate manufacturing processes, products, and production equipment.
  • Making sure processes adhere to quality standards.
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
  • Programming computerized measuring equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods, measuring tools, gages, and quality manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong Math Skills.
  • Knowledge of metals machining.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle stress.
  • Capable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to switch between tasks easily.
