Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Lead Technician to join our team at F&S Produce. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our wastewater treatment facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision: Lead and oversee a team of wastewater treatment technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth plant operations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Monitor and control wastewater treatment processes, troubleshoot issues, and adjust as necessary to meet performance standards and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery, including pumps, motors, valves, and instrumentation, to ensure proper functionality.
  • Safety: Enforce safety protocols and procedures, conduct safety meetings, and promote a safe working environment for all plant personnel.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, reporting any violations or incidents as required.
  • Records and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of plant operations, maintenance activities, and equipment readings. Prepare reports as needed for regulatory agencies.
  • Training: Train and mentor technicians on best practices, safety protocols, and efficient plant operation techniques.
  • Emergency Response: Act as a key member of the plant's emergency response team, participating in incident response and emergency drills.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory of chemicals, spare parts, and supplies necessary for plant operations. Reorder materials as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the quality of treated wastewater meets or exceeds established standards.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in wastewater treatment, environmental science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations, with supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and related regulations.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various types of wastewater treatment equipment and machinery.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and adverse weather conditions.
  • Physical agility to climb ladders, stairs, and work in elevated areas.
