Trauma Registrar

As a Trauma Registrar, you will play a critical role in our team by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting trauma registry data. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Data Collection and Analysis: Evaluate and interpret patient data in reference to ICD-10 and AIS coding classification, ensuring accuracy and compliance with NTDS standards.
• Data Entry and Management: Enter and manage trauma registry data, ensuring charts are completed and closed within 60 days of patient discharge.
• Concurrent Chart Review: Validate data through concurrent chart review to confirm quality standards are met.
• Performance Improvement Initiatives: Work with Trauma Program leadership to collect and track data points to assist with Performance Improvement initiatives.
• Reporting and Submissions: Assist in preparing data for site visits, TQIP, and NJ State submissions.

• Education: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or GED equivalent programs.
• Experience: Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR), such as EPIC, and working with a registry.
• Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

• Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare or other related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience as a Trauma Registrar for a Level I or Level II Trauma Center.

• Required: Any trauma registry course certification, Trauma-specific ICD-10 Course Certification, and AAAM AIS Course Certificate.
• Preferred: Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry (CSTR) Certification.
