Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at the University of Texas Medical Branch. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic CT procedures, including common and special exams of moderate to high complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT, CTA, CTP, and interventional biopsy procedures to include common and specialized exams of moderate to high complexity.
  • Optimize protocols to provide better patient care, image quality, and patient experience.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures or special procedures, including assisting with sterile technique.
  • Utilize AIDET incorporating Key Words and MANGAGE UP techniques when speaking to patients and family members at an age-appropriate level.
  • Practice radiation safety and ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
  • Maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures.
  • Comply with job role, department, and hospital safety standards, practices, and policies.
  • Identify LEAN opportunities and WASTE, providing recommendations, and contribute to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Associates of Applied Science degree from an accredited radiology program.
  • Graduate of an accredited computed tomography program (to include UTMB cross-training program).
  • Proficient in all CT, CTA, CT Perfusion, CT Cardiac, and CT Interventional procedures.
  • 3+ years of experience in CT scanning.
  • American Registry for Radiology Technologist (ARRT-R) certification.
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (ARRT-CT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NMTCB (CT) certification.
  • Texas Medical Board certification (MRT).
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced diagnostic imaging environment with frequent exposure to radiation. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
