Job Summary:

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing routine, advanced, and biopsy ultrasound procedures at Westchester Medical Center. This role requires a strong understanding of ultrasound techniques and the ability to operate complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer imaging tests and treatments as prescribed by clinical providers, utilizing protocols to produce high-quality radiology images.
  • Position and instruct patients in preparation for taking ultrasound images, making adjustments to equipment as needed.
  • Troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Track and secure supplies according to departmental guidelines.
  • Enter patient information into imaging systems, properly image cases, and archive to PACS.
  • Write preliminary reports after scanning, completing worksheets in a neat and legible format.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant working environment, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new staff, serving as a resource person and professional role model.
Qualifications:
  • Two years of experience in diagnostic work using ultrasound equipment.
  • Graduate of an approved Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs School of Ultrasound.
  • Licensed by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Maintenance of ARDMS registration as a Registered Ultrasound Technologist.
