Job Summary:

As a Front Office Coordinator at Geisinger Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients, families, and healthcare teams. You will be responsible for coordinating and performing front-line office activities, including patient registration, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Register patients for appointments and accurately verify demographics.
  • Ensure all check-in procedures are completed and monitor patient wait times, communicating changes to the patient as necessary.
  • Read and interpret insurance responses to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance per encounter.
  • Obtain necessary legal and financial signatures from patients and communicate financial obligations.
  • Collect fees at time of service and process multi-channel messages related to patient and/or physician requests.
  • Notify patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibility and collect accordingly.
  • Perform cash posting and maintain high regard for confidentiality.
  • Accurately perform medical record maintenance and releases.
  • Assist with referrals and pre-certifications at the time of encounter.

Requirements:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) - (Required)

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year - Related work experience (Preferred)
