Position Summary

This role involves engaging with youth during both crisis and non-crisis circumstances while assisting with the upkeep of the facility. During evening shifts, team members will be involved in activities such as playing games, facilitating discussions, or aiding in bedtime preparations. This position is ideal for those seeking to earn additional income during evening hours.

Salary Information: Starting at $18.50/hour, based on experience. A comprehensive benefits package is available for full-time employees.

Required Qualifications

  1. Deliver direct therapeutic support to children utilizing trauma-informed methodologies provided by Abbott House.
  2. Ensure appropriate supervision of children in line with organizational standards.
  3. Intervene effectively in crisis situations to safeguard the well-being of children, staff, and agency property according to established practices.
  4. Maintain open and constructive communication with children, colleagues, and management while completing necessary documentation promptly.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the effective management of student behavior and implement educational programs, which may include tutoring and other related tasks.
  2. Provide opportunities for students to enhance their social skills.
  3. Ensure that intervention strategies are tailored to meet the individual needs of students and align with agency policies.
  4. Communicate student progress and any challenges to team members in a timely manner.
  5. Support educators in preparing curriculum materials and perform additional duties as assigned.
  6. Maintain detailed and timely records of significant incidents.
