Position Overview:

The Fire Safety Inspector is responsible for ensuring that fire alarm systems and life safety equipment meet regulatory standards and operate effectively. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Ability to interpret and understand design and construction documents.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, laptops, smartphones, and tablets.
  • Capability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
  • Strong teamwork skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer support.
  • Must achieve NICET Fire Alarm Certification Level 1 within the first year of employment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with minimal violations.
  • Basic troubleshooting knowledge of fire alarm systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, testing, and servicing of fire alarm equipment to ensure compliance with NFPA72 standards and local regulations.
  • Document findings and provide recommendations for repairs as necessary.
  • Adhere to site-specific training protocols.
  • Complete service ticket documentation accurately.
  • Be available for overtime as required.
  • Participate in on-call rotation within three months of hire.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures as mandated by local, corporate, and OSHA regulations.
  • Complete all required training and certifications within designated timeframes.
