Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead our Financial Systems Transformation efforts. This is a full-time, hybrid position in our New York City office, requiring at least two days of in-office work per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand, enhance, and optimize critical financial systems.
  • Configure NetSuite workflows, data validations, integrations, dashboards, and relevant reports to optimize system functionality and drive automation and reporting analytics.
  • Migrate legacy transactional and entity data from existing systems to NetSuite.
  • Manage the deployment process and ensure seamless software launch and continuity of business operations during the transition.
  • Lead change management efforts and apply systems development life cycle policies and procedures.
  • Manage design and execution of internal controls over financial systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during configuration and provide ongoing post-implementation support to optimize user adoption.
  • Build a roadmap for BuzzFeed's financial systems, incorporate potentially new and/or creative solutions, and then plan, manage, and communicate project status and milestone achievements.
  • Drive delivery according to the agreed-upon scope, time, and budget.
  • Drive process transformation and educate operations teams on best practices and effective usage of systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance/Business, or IT field with a background in accounting is a plus.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in performing NetSuite implementations, integrations, and/or customizations for NetSuite ERP Financials, Purchasing, Reporting, Projects, and Cash Applications in relevant consulting or industry roles.
  • Experience as a SaaS financial systems owner in an environment managing multiple support/project functions alongside Accounting/ERP/CRM/Data warehouse partners.
  • Experience with other IT financial systems, including Workday HCM, Strongpoint, etc.
  • Experience working with Risk and Audit functions in implementing and maintaining SOX-compliant controls and managing audit requests.
  • Familiarity with ETL Technology (Boomi, MuleSoft, Informatica, Pentaho).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with business partners at various levels and the ability to translate customer business requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively about competing organizational priorities and projects being managed while managing stakeholder interactions, resolving conflicts, and communicating with different audiences contextually.
  • Experience documenting and analyzing processes, procedures, and/or policies.
