This position emphasizes scientific precision, safety protocols, and adherence to industry regulations, while also managing laboratory workflows and supervising scientific personnel. Core responsibilities encompass the creation of new formulations, validation of testing methodologies, collaboration with Sales and Marketing teams, and upholding rigorous documentation and quality assurance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulation and Innovation:
    • Design and enhance formulations for powders, liquids, and gels to align with project objectives and timelines.
    • Revise existing products to improve performance and longevity.
    • Conduct stability assessments and implement necessary modifications.
  • Documentation and Analysis:
    • Draft and/or evaluate procedures and specifications for product quality and development.
    • Record test outcomes, establish specifications, and guide scale-up processes.
    • Compile and review monthly reports concerning product development, quality challenges, and emerging trends.
  • Quality Control:
    • Create and validate testing methods for product development and quality management.
    • Offer analytical assistance utilizing FTIR, GC, and other pertinent techniques.
    • Monitor and address quality concerns related to raw materials and finished goods.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Partner with Sales and Marketing to define project scopes, establish timelines, and formulate new products.
    • Communicate project updates, findings, and formulation details to relevant parties.
    • Engage with clients and field representatives to resolve product-related inquiries.
  • Laboratory Oversight:
    • Manage daily laboratory activities, ensure equipment is calibrated, and maintain a clean working environment.
    • Oversee laboratory documentation, including test results and quality records.
    • Develop manufacturing guidelines and facilitate the transition to commercial production.
    • Train and mentor laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Research and Development:
    • Conduct research for technical information and stay informed on industry advancements and regulatory updates.
    • Assess new and alternative raw materials for their effectiveness and stability.
    • Design experimental protocols to troubleshoot technical challenges and support product innovation.
  • Additional Projects and Responsibilities:
    • Execute special projects and additional tasks as directed by the Laboratory Manager.
    • Act as a substitute for the Laboratory Manager in SAP-related functions and other managerial duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 2-4 years of pertinent experience in a research and development setting or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in analytical techniques and equipment such as ICP, FTIR, GC, HPLC, UV/Vis, and MS.
  • Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proven self-starter with initiative and innovative thinking.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with SAP processes for production and development activities is advantageous.
