Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to join our team as a People Operations and Administration Manager. This role will play a critical part in our continued success, overseeing both Human Resources and Operations functions.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of management experience, with a strong understanding of HR compliance, organizational development, and staff relations. They will be able to manage sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality, and possess excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Human Resources:
    • Lead the hiring process, including candidate searches, interviews, and onboarding.
    • Ensure personnel policies are up-to-date and compliant with state and federal laws.
    • Oversee training and performance evaluation processes, fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
    • Manage employee benefits packages, including health, dental, and leave policies.
    • Act as a resource for staff, maintaining an open-door policy and managing employee grievances confidentially and effectively.
  • Operations:
    • Maintain organizational and employee directories, manage office-related purchases, and ensure vendor relationships are up-to-date.
    • Oversee company insurance coverage, manage bills, and provide support for payroll, sales reporting, and bonus calculations.
    • Manage the security of employee platforms and devices, and ensure smooth coordination with IT consultants.
    • Implement enhancements to procedures that improve overall productivity, client service, and team efficiency.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in HR management, preferably in California, with knowledge of California labor laws.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, organizational development, and staff relations.
  • Ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with managers and employees at all levels.
  • SPHR certification is a plus but not required.
  • Credibility, decisiveness, and the ability to maintain positive relationships with staff.
  • Excellent judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Optimistic, adaptable, and resourceful, with high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong self-management skills, able to prioritize multiple demands.
