Senior Product Engineer

Johnson Controls is seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Engineer to join our global chiller engineering team. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, testing, and data analysis of our products.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in product design and development. You will work closely with our design and drafting group to generate chiller layout concepts and system configurations. Your expertise in mechanical design and ability to conceptualize and implement design ideas will be essential in driving product innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and processes related to chillers.
- Develop and implement design ideas into our products, working closely with the design and drafting group.
- Generate engineering/design documentation and compile technical documents for use within the company.
- Prepare and execute test programs to verify performance and reliability of electrical and mechanical components and systems.
- Review and analyze test data, providing input for design and troubleshooting.
- Apply regulatory codes such as UL, CE, PED, and ASME in product design.
- Possess knowledge of manufacturing processes and apply the philosophy of designing to standard manufacturing processes.
- Report on the status of projects and strive for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development environment.
Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering (ABET accredited) or related science or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a related field.
- Experience in a design and product development environment.
- Basic understanding of fundamental business knowledge.
- Knowledge/experience in electrical engineering (electric motor, motor control, electrical wiring) would be a plus.
- Strong design background and knowledge/experience in refrigeration systems and components (compressors, heat exchangers) would be a plus.
