Position Overview

Role Summary:
The role involves assisting educators in achieving school and district objectives by working closely with individual students or small groups to enhance their academic skills and competencies. The assistant operates under the guidance of the lead teacher and is supervised by the school principal.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support individual or small group learning to reinforce skills introduced by the educator.
  2. Facilitate independent study, enrichment, or remedial activities as directed by the teacher.
  3. Assist in grading assignments as assigned by the classroom educator.
  4. Help with group activities within the classroom and across the school.
  5. Aid the teacher in administering and scoring student assessments as required.
  6. Prepare materials and supplies necessary for classroom instruction.
  7. Supervise students during breaks, lunch, field trips, and special events.
  8. Engage in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
  9. Carry out additional duties as assigned by the principal or educator.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children (ages 3-12 years) is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.

Education Requirements:

  • A minimum of 60 college credit hours is necessary.
