Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumber II to join our team at Centra Health. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in plumbing operations, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate plumbing activities, including repair, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of equipment and systems.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of emergency and planned shutdowns, construction, and capital projects.
  • Oversee daily interactions with contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and implement solutions to problems and quality challenges, improving overall department performance.
  • Provide real-time support and consultation during joint commission-related activities and surveys.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, serving as a resource for the department on plumbing systems.
  • Participate in fire brigade and snow removal crews as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical degree in a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes, NFPA sprinkler and med-gas testing requirements, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read technical documents, follow verbal instructions, and interpret blueprints.
  • Journeyman plumber's card recognized by the State of Virginia or ability to receive within six months of employment.
  • Valid Virginia Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in healthcare-related facilities maintenance and repairs.
  • Masters card and med-gas Certification.
