Overview:
The Academic Coordinator for Family Medicine plays a crucial role in overseeing all accreditation obligations for residents and preparing monthly reports for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). This position is integral in supporting the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing education of residents, while enhancing the overall educational framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates closely with the Residency Program Supervisor, Program Director, and faculty to manage the residency program effectively.
- Acts as a liaison for medical students, developing rotation schedules, coordinating with educational institutions, and facilitating their onboarding and orientation.
- Maintains current knowledge of ACGME and ABFM accreditation standards, assisting in the integration of necessary competencies into the residency curriculum. Responsible for compiling and distributing all required monthly documentation.
- Manages a comprehensive database for all accreditation requirements, including attendance records and evaluations for rotations.
- Coordinates educational sessions, resident training, and meetings, ensuring compliance with ACGME standards.
- Supports the annual recruitment and orientation process for family medicine residents.
- Serves as the program coordinator for the Obstetrics Fellowship, overseeing recruitment, interviews, and onboarding processes in collaboration with the Fellowship Program Director.
- Develops and disseminates marketing and communication materials, ensuring they are updated annually and reflect any departmental changes.
- Participates in wellness initiatives within the residency and clinic, organizing events such as graduation and retreats, and managing social media communications in partnership with the program supervisor and residents.
- Performs additional duties as required to support the residency and department's objectives.
- High School Diploma with a minimum of 2 years of administrative support experience, or a 4-year bachelor's degree.
