We are in search of a proficient Senior Technical Project Manager (Cloud/Data Migrations/EDW) to enhance our capabilities.
The ideal candidate should possess substantial experience in the following areas:
- Over 10 years of experience as a Project Manager, adept at managing risks associated with complex project leadership.
- At least 5 years of experience leading diverse technical teams, potentially across various locations.
- Strong technical knowledge of cloud technologies, enterprise data warehouse principles, data integration workflows, and reporting mechanisms.
Project Expertise
- Prior involvement in EDW, Data Warehouse Migration, or Data Integration initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies and associated solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver project and program management expertise across various initiatives.
- Conduct meetings with key stakeholders to gather project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining tasks by project phases.
- Oversee the activities of the entire project team (vendors, clients, staff) to ensure timely achievement of project milestones.
- Monitor and manage the project budget, ensuring alignment with initial estimates.
- Adhere to escalation protocols for issues affecting overall project health, including risks and budget concerns.
- Prepare weekly status reports detailing current tasks, upcoming tasks, issues, risks, budget status, and milestone dates.
- Identify, track, and manage project issues and risks, escalating them to appropriate leadership as necessary.
- Facilitate regular status meetings with team members and clients to communicate project progress, issues, risks, and milestone dates.
- Ensure teams have access to technical clarity and focus during meetings and stand-ups.
- Enhance operational efficiencies within the development team to maximize deliverables in each iteration.
- Address and resolve impediments and blocking issues for the team.
- Implement processes, practices, and tools that enable multiple delivery paths, fostering simplified, consistent, reusable, efficient, and flexible methodologies.
- Propose improvements and drive alignment across IT teams within the same business line.
Project Management / Scrum Expertise:
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, XP).
- Understanding of the fundamental principles of iterative and incremental development.
- Knowledge of various Agile approaches, including Kanban, Crystal, FDD, XP, etc.
- Basic understanding of software development processes to comprehend team needs.
- Expertise in estimation and planning, capable of creating practical and reliable plans for software development projects.
- Knowledge of Agile techniques: User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games.
- Adept at analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing work to ensure timely project delivery.
- Experience in matrix-managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Proficient in sprint planning and agile development practices.
- Appreciation for the value of metrics and incremental delivery.
- Familiarity with common development practices.
Additional Skills:
- Prior consulting experience or conducting presentations to C-Level executives.
- Collaborative team player with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for Scrum and Project Management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Outstanding time management skills.
Essential Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Prior experience in external client service, consulting, or contracting.
- PMP, CSM certification, and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field from a recognized institution.
