Deputy Sheriff Academy/Lateral Position

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff Academy/Lateral to join our team. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, maintaining order, and providing public service to the community.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol assigned areas to protect life and property, respond to calls, and administer first aid.
- Perform field interrogations, provide traffic and crowd control, and issue traffic citations.
- Transport arrested individuals to County Jail, make court appearances, and prepare reports.
- Enforce boating and navigation laws, perform waterways and underwater search and rescue, and provide boating safety checks.
- Patrol open space areas, respond to calls, and provide public information.
- Determine proper method for legal service of a process, serve processes, and execute Court-issued writs and orders.
- Make presentations to community groups and schools regarding crime prevention, protection, and safety.
- Interview victims and witnesses, perform background checks, and examine crime scenes.
- Arrest and interrogate suspects, transport suspects to jail, and perform follow-up investigations.
- Transport prisoners to and from court, other jurisdictions, or institutions, and clinics and hospitals for medical and psychological treatments.
- Receive, search, book, and place prisoners in appropriate cells, and maintain security and control in receiving, visitation, and other jail areas.
- Maintain order and ensure the security and safe condition of the courtroom, and escort prisoners to and from the courtroom.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of law enforcement procedures and protocols, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
