Healthcare Leader for SICU Unit

Howard University Hospital seeks a seasoned Nurse Manager to lead our Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This individual will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring seamless communication between teams, and driving continuous performance improvement. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with at least five years of experience in a department-specific area and three years of supervisory experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess, plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care in the SICU unit
- Ensure adherence to Howard University Hospital's policies and procedures
- Support and foster the hospital's mission and vision
- Cultivate clinical practice, staff development, and continuing education initiatives
The successful candidate will have a strong educational background, including a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, with a Master's Degree preferred. A current District of Columbia nursing license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association are also required. Additionally, the nurse manager must demonstrate leadership potential by obtaining certification within one year of eligibility.
