Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at OU Health, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting. Under the direct supervision of a physician or other medical personnel, you will perform routine patient care functions such as physician assistance, patient placement, testing, information gathering, nursing duties, chaperoning, supply maintenance, and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist physicians and other medical personnel in the examination process as required or necessary.
Place patients in exam rooms, draping and positioning them for appropriate exams or procedures.
Perform routine tests on patients, such as audiograms, vision, spirometer, EKG, rapid strep, urinalysis, and urine pregnancy tests.
Obtain and record vital signs, including body temperature, height, weight, and blood pressure.
Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Provide clerical assistance to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
2 or more years of experience in patient care as a Medical Assistant or 2 years performing electronic order entry as a qualified Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABR-OE) required.
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
One of the following certifications preferred but not required upon hire: Medical Assistant - American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant - American Association of Medical Personnel, etc.
