Position SummaryLedgemere Transportation is a community-focused provider of school transportation services, dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of students in Lewiston, Maine. Since our inception, we have prioritized the delivery of reliable and secure transportation for school children, supported by a team of skilled professionals including drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance staff.
As a School Transportation Operator, you will play a crucial role in the daily commute of students, ensuring they arrive safely at their destinations. Our organization values a culture of safety and professionalism, and we are committed to providing our drivers with comprehensive training and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate a school bus along designated routes, ensuring timely pick-up and drop-off of students.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings to enhance operational knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the bus to uphold the company’s image.
- Occasionally transport students for field trips and special events as required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- A minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving experience is required.
- Possess a clean driving record for the past 24-36 months.
- Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Successful completion of a comprehensive training program.
- Pass pre-employment background checks.
