Nurse Practitioner

The Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all nursing activities related directly or indirectly to patient care for a group of patients within a specific clinical area.
He/she evaluates patient's physical and psychosocial needs, administers direct patient care, and provides education for the patient and their family.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for all nursing personnel assigned to the Team. He/she functions as a mentor to their team, teaching and demonstrating nursing care procedures.
He/she maintains a professional profile, promotes cooperation, a positive attitude, and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.
Uses the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care.
Collects data relevant to patient's condition and reports critical values to physician in a timely manner.
Assesses appropriate lab and diagnostic data
Documents findings of physical assessment and is able to identify abnormal findings.
Develops plan of care based on patient need.
Performs interventions according to patient need and hospital policy.
Adheres to all safety guidelines and exercises the utmost care when interacting with patients.
Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions with patient, family, peers, and staff, and maintains open communication with nursing management.
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Recent experience in Mother/Baby or Labor & Delivery
Ability to lift patients with or without assistance
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Fetal Monitoring certification

StaffCo and SUNY have entered into a professional employer agreement under which StaffCo is the employer of Stony Brook Southampton employees and responsible for employment, including the day-to-day direction and supervision of work.
StaffCo is fully responsible for providing all Payroll and Human Resource services, including the payment of wages, collecting and reporting payroll taxes and maintaining any and all benefits for which one is eligible.
SUNY Stony Brook Hospital is responsible for the operation of the hospital and provision of health care and is the co-employer as is necessary to conduct its responsibilities and for related licensure, regulatory or statutory requirements and obligations.
