Job Title: Medicaid Consultant

As a Medicaid Consultant with the City of New York, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient processing of Medicaid cases and providing high-quality services to vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply Medicaid policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and City guidelines.
  • Supervise and distribute work schedules/assignments to the Central Intake Team, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adequate coverage during operating hours.
  • Provide second-level sign-off approval for adverse case actions, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to processing protocols.
  • Conduct random reviews of completed cases to verify accuracy and quality of decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Central Intake Team to identify and resolve problems, providing written reports and recommendations for corrective training.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to Central Intake Team Supervisors and Clerical Associates, focusing on quality control and error reduction.
  • Assist Central Intake Team Supervisors and Clerical Associates in resolving high-priority cases, including Immediate Needs, Fair Hearings, and Quality Assurance issues.

Requirements:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year in an administrative capacity or supervising staff.
  • Or an associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year of administrative supervisory experience.
  • Or a four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and five years of progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including one year of administrative supervisory experience.
