Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance APQP Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting internal PPAP activities and implementing APQP/PPAP methodologies across selected suppliers. The role requires a willingness to travel to various suppliers as necessary (approximately 30%).

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing APQP tasks, addressing quality concerns, and monitoring supplier performance on behalf of the organization. Key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying and implementing quality concepts such as QFD, FMEA, Control Plans, P-Diagram, and PFDs.
  • Addressing issues that arise within the supply chain by developing and following up on RCCA and recovery plans in alignment with customer requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with the Customer quality and supply chain teams to ensure effective communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 2-3 years of experience with APQP/PPAP core tools and deliverables (PPAP, FAI, FMEA, SPC, MSA, PFD).
  • Hands-on experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of QMS standards such as AS9100 and ISO.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., Fish Bone, 8D).
  • The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and contracts according to customer specifications.
  • A background in Quality Engineering methodologies.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Proven experience in driving root cause analysis with suppliers.
  • A solid understanding of Quality Assurance principles and tools.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively influence both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive supplier quality performance in accordance with company procedures and relevant standards (i.e., AS9100, AS9145, AS9102).
  • Ensure the accurate flow down of quality and delivery performance requirements to participating suppliers.
  • Verify that suppliers meet APQP/PPAP deliverables, milestones, action plans, and process improvements.
  • Prioritize the management of supplier non-conformance and RCCA.
  • Regularly report on supplier progress using MS Office and CORE tools to leadership.
