Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist

Wilson Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist to join our team in Sidney, Ohio. As a key member of our medical staff office, you will be responsible for ensuring that applicants meet all accreditation requirements for medical staff membership and/or clinical privileges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the credentialing and recredentialing process, including sending and receiving primary source verification and other documents as specified by accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in the ACHC accreditation survey, including interacting with surveyors to demonstrate compliance with standards to achieve accreditation.
  • Continually review, revise, and provide input to improve credentialing documents ensuring consistency and in accordance with regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain an active onboarding program for new physicians joining the medical staff.
  • Prepare and maintain records related to medical staff and peer review, including coordination and oversight of the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE)/Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) process.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, communications or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum two years' experience working in a Medical Staff Office and with credentialing; strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Candidates with CPCS or CPMSM preferred; proficiency with MD-Staff credentialing software preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with physicians, leaders, colleagues, and external stakeholders in a positive and professional manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing documentation and records.
