The HR Operations Specialist will play a pivotal role in the management of human resources policies, employee benefits enrollment, and the daily HR operations essential for supporting the workforce. This vital position serves as a liaison between management and staff.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

This position involves providing expert counsel on various HR issues, including employee relations, recruitment, and regulatory compliance. Acting as a reliable communicator, the HR Operations Specialist drives initiatives focused on enhancing employee engagement, retention, and overall organizational performance.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of human resources programs and offers guidance on health & wellness benefits, performance management, talent acquisition, recognition, and training & development initiatives.
  • Oversees the development, coordination, and implementation of policies, processes, training programs, and surveys to ensure compliance with HR regulations and support organizational strategies.
  • Conducts research and analysis for various HR initiatives and projects.
  • Assists in recommending and implementing new policies and communication strategies to improve departmental efficiency and service delivery.
  • Stays updated on regulatory changes and HR trends to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Supports recruitment efforts by participating in job fairs and developing advertising strategies.
  • Administers HR surveys, the Buddy Program, and exit interviews to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvements to the HR Director.
  • Collaborates with the HR Assistant to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new employees.
  • Facilitates timely performance evaluations and compensation adjustments in partnership with department managers.
  • Acts as the initial point of contact for employee investigations and grievances.
  • Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality regarding all sensitive information.
  • Partners with the Plant Manager and HR Director to lead communication strategies and initiatives.
  • Performs additional relevant duties as assigned to fulfill business needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR policies.
  • Experience in employee benefits and administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with social media for job postings and employee engagement.
  • Extensive knowledge across all HR functional areas.
  • Innovative thinking and ability to provide creative HR solutions.
  • Proficient in managing HR data and analytics.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with excellent multitasking skills.
  • Strong writing skills for job descriptions, policy development, and training materials.
  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and dispute management.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications, Training):
  • Preferred degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; equivalent HR experience will be considered.
  • HR certification is preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in human resources.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with HR recordkeeping and payroll systems, including HRIS and ATS.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with departments as a team member.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Marketing and sales skills are an advantage.
