Job Summary

Enviva is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our plant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of our sustainable wood pellets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of our production team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, production, and cost.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of employee performance and accountability to drive performance improvement.
  • Ensure a safe working environment is established and maintained, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Enforce good housekeeping standards and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members regarding their duties and goals.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of paperwork and documentation.
  • Facilitate daily and consistent communication and shift meetings to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform work assigned by the Production Manager to ensure successful operation of the plant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education; community college or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two to three years of industrial or manufacturing experience, preferably in the wood products industry.
  • Proficiency in basic computer knowledge and skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Lean Manufacturing proficiency and experience.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and withstand temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
  • Strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve hours a day.
  • Ability to work around moving equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to pull and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
