Orthopedic Spine Floor Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthopedic Spine Floor Clinician to join our academic and clinical team at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. This is an excellent opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality patient care while contributing to education and research initiatives.
About the Position
This full-time exempt position will be responsible for working on the Orthopedic Spine Floor, providing direct patient care to a specified patient population. The successful candidate will have a strong background in musculoskeletal medicine and experience in acute/chronic medical problems. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a high-intensity environment.
Responsibilities
- Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations on assigned patients; assess and treat acute/chronic medical problems (focusing on the musculoskeletal system) and provide direct patient care to a specified patient population.
- Assist in providing pre-op and post-op care; write appropriate orders, including those for narcotics and other scheduled drugs.
- Perform emergency lifesaving procedures in cases such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, massive hemorrhage, or similar emergencies.
- Coordinate daily patient care with the Hospitalist and other consulting services.
- Responsible for the timely discharge of patients from the hospital and completion of discharge summaries.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- State of Colorado Certified Physician's Assistant or Inclusion on the State of Colorado Advanced Practice Registry as an Advance Practice Nurse.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants.
- CPR Certified.
Benefits
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus offers a competitive salary range of $107,000 - 115,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition, we provide generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
Work Environment
This role is expected to work onsite in Aurora, CO, primarily Monday-Friday, starting around 6/7 am. Early morning meetings and shifts extending beyond 8 hours may be necessary.
