Exciting Opportunity in Orthopedics
The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus seeks a highly skilled Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our esteemed Department of Orthopedics. This full-time position will provide weekend coverage for the Spine, Adult Reconstruction, Oncology and Sports sections at the University of Colorado Hospital.
Main Responsibilities:- Deliver exceptional patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on musculoskeletal issues.
- Assist in pre-op and post-op care, ensuring seamless patient transitions.
- Perform emergency procedures, such as cardiac arrest response, when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with attending physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient concerns or unusual events.
- Maintain a safe and infection-free environment.
- Collaborate with patient care staff to optimize clinic operations.
- Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly.
- Provide education to patients and families, and may train medical students or residents.
- Pursue professional growth through ongoing education and literature reviews.
- Participate in academic conferences, journal clubs, and community outreach events, if interested.
- Develop educational materials and protocols for specific conditions and post-operative care.
- Prepare presentations for institutional, local, and national meetings, if desired.
- Familiarize yourself with the electronic medical record system and serve as a resource to colleagues.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic environment.
This role works weekends (Friday-Monday), 6/7am-4pm, primarily at the University of Colorado Hospital. Our nationally ranked Orthopedic department prioritizes quality care and innovation in research and education.
