POSITION SUMMARY:

Gemini Motor Transport is a leading logistics provider operating a fleet of trucks across the nation, delivering fuel to Love's Travel Stops and various retail and wholesale clients. Our Fuel Transport roles are recognized for their excellence in the industry. We prioritize achieving the highest safety standards for our drivers and valued customers.

COMPENSATION & WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Flexible availability to work shifts based on operational requirements. Typical schedule for this role is Sunday-Thursday Night Shift (with Friday and Saturday off)
  • Hourly wage ranges from $27 to $29, contingent on shift and location
  • Overtime compensation begins after 40 hours of work per week
  • Eligibility for monthly and annual performance bonuses
  • ***The sign-on bonus of $2,500 will be distributed in two installments: the first at 90 days and the second at 180 days of active employment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive defensively at all times and adhere to all applicable laws and regulations to uphold Gemini's reputation as a premier tank carrier.
  • Operate company vehicles to load and deliver fuel and other commodities to Love's retail locations and various third-party clients. Gemini operates around the clock, every day of the year.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, local, and company regulations governing the safe operation of hazardous cargo tank vehicles.
  • Be knowledgeable about and follow the correct procedures for loading and unloading various types of cargo.
  • Maintain communication with logistics as necessary.
  • Complete electronic logs and all required documentation as mandated by the company.
  • Adhere to company standards of professional conduct when interacting with customers, colleagues, vendors, and the public.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • All drivers must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with the necessary endorsements (HazMat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples) as mandated by law.
  • Drivers must meet physical qualifications and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate in accordance with 49 CFR, Section of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years of verifiable over-the-road driving experience or certification from an accredited truck driving school.
  • Familiarity with all applicable DOT and Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

SKILLS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts based on business needs.
  • Ability to drive for up to 11 hours and work a total of 14 hours while transporting hazardous materials, including extended periods of sitting in a truck.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and meet the qualifications outlined in 49 CFR Section b)(1) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English, as per 49CFR Section b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Physical ability to walk, bend, reach, push, stoop, squat, and climb as necessary for vehicle inspections required under 49 CFR Sections of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Capability to handle heavy equipment safely during the hooking and dropping processes of tractor/trailer combinations, including climbing onto the trailer when necessary.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Normal range of hearing, vision, and smell is required.
