Job Summary

The Timken Company is seeking a skilled Gear Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our engineering and technical staff, you will be responsible for setting up and operating all gear machines, ensuring the highest quality and precision in our power transmission solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate gear machines to produce high-quality gears
  • Perform gear hobbing, deburring, sawing, and balancing tasks
  • Develop and implement machining feeds, speeds, and depth of cuts to maximize production
  • Collaborate with peers to foster teamwork and unity of purpose
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment, adhering to the highest standards of workplace safety and quality
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in a shop environment, with expertise in turning and milling carbon steels and aluminum
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, inspection, and fixturing of low-quantity precision parts
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models, with knowledge of GD&T
  • Mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
