Job Title: Gear Machinist

Philadelphia Gear, a leading provider of power transmission solutions, is seeking a skilled Gear Machinist to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating gear machines to produce high-quality precision parts.

Responsibilities:
  • Setup and operate gear machines to produce precision parts
  • Perform gear hobbing, deburring, sawing, and balancing operations
  • Develop and implement machining feeds, speeds, and depth of cuts to maximize production
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and safe production processes
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in a shop environment
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, inspection, and fixturing of low-quantity precision parts
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
  • Mathematical skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide units of measure
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
