Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient care needs and prioritize treatment
  • Conduct nursing assessments, obtain vital signs, and perform medical tests
  • Provide treatment within scope of practice as defined by state law
  • Collaborate with physicians to arrange further medical treatment when needed
  • Identify equipment that needs repair and bring it to the attention of the lead clinician
  • Perform occupational and health screening tests as defined in site contract
  • Document all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, and follow-up care arranged
  • Evaluate health education/promotion needs of patients and provide necessary training and instruction
  • Identify emergency situations and provide care within legal scope of practice
  • Administer medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a physician or licensed independent practitioner
  • Maintain medical records using electronic medical record software
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow infection control procedures
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidential patient information
  • Participate in follow-up phone calls and follow-up patient visits

Requirements:

  • Certificate from an accredited nursing school or associate's degree required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • Currently licensed registered nurse in the state of practice required
  • Current hands-on training in AHA or ARC basic life support for healthcare providers required; advanced cardiac life support may also be required
  • Certification in occupational health nursing, emergency nursing, or case management preferred
  • At least three years of experience as a registered nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic preferred

Preferred Experience:

Knowledge of internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software preferred. Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records and workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred.
