Lakeside Foods is committed to producing high-quality products that meet or exceed company and government regulated standards. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Intern to assist with various duties to ensure the highest quality and safest product is produced.

The Quality Assurance Intern will be responsible for monitoring the quality and safety of product, performing inspections and audits in keeping with the program requirements of SAFE QUALITY FOODS (SQF), HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITICAL CONTROL POINTS (HACCP) and FDA/WDA Standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing all QA functions and assisting with training of seasonal employees
  • Working with QA lead to give direction to QA techs and ensure completion of all QA checks are done correctly
  • Involvement in review of daily process records for learning purposes
  • Assisting with inputting daily product grades after QA record review
  • Assisting in conducting record reviews of customer complaints and maintaining a customer complaint investigation register
  • Assisting in managing the process for putting product on hold and assisting the plant/warehouse staff with this process
  • Working with the QA Manager to update the QSM procedure and documentation registers as procedures are changed which are issued and initiated by corporate
  • Assisting with lab equipment assessment to ensure that it is in proper working condition
  • Performing periodic inspections of the glass and brittle plastic, sanitation process and food safety audits
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Management

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work at a proficient pace, be self-directed and maintain specific job assignments throughout entire shift.
