Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registration Associate to join our team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. As a key member of our patient access team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless patient registration and billing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients and families to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financial information.
  • Enter data into our registration and billing systems to minimize patient wait times.
  • Confirm insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as necessary.
  • Explain regulatory financial requirements to patients or responsible parties and collect deposits or deductible amounts as required.
  • Assist the Appeals department in overturning claims denials.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and department staff, providing information and assistance as needed.
  • Initiate and execute daily medical record maintenance, maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Provide release of medical information as required.
  • Perform administrative duties to ensure efficient daily business operations.
  • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate all aspects of scheduling.
  • Attend and participate in department meetings and serve on committees as needed.
Requirements
  • One year of experience in registration or a related clinical discipline.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute.
  • Basic Windows skills assessment at 80% or higher rating.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree.
  • Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR) or Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA).
  • Knowledge of patient registration systems and insurance verification systems.
