The Respiratory Care Practitioner is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, education, and evaluation. This role requires a high level of expertise in respiratory care, with a focus on delivering compassionate and personalized care to patients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyzing data to create a plan of care and implementing treatment as needed.
- Perform respiratory care procedures within the scope of licensure, monitoring patient response and making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers on cardiopulmonary diseases and disorders, as well as associated treatment options and therapies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest respiratory care techniques and technologies, participating in ongoing education and training as needed.
- Current Respiratory Care License in the state of employment (required)
- National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialing (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (preferred)
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (required)
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross (preferred)
- PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association (preferred)
- Valid driver's license (required for Home Care/DME)
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school for Respiratory Care (required)
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred)
- Previous working experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting (preferred)
- 6 months Respiratory Therapy experience in a general care area (preferred)
