We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team of skilled home healthcare providers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing standards of care for occupational therapy services and adhering to all conditions outlined in the Service Agreement.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' functional status, including muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skills, self-care ability, and work capacity.
  • Assess the home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living and identify equipment needs.
  • Develop treatment programs and establish goals for improved function, communicating plans of care to referring physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities lost due to illness or injury, in accordance with organizational policy.
  • Fabricate splints and instruct patients in the use of adaptive equipment to improve function.
  • Train patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, clinical notes, and reports to physicians on patient condition changes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare personnel to ensure coordinated and efficient care.
  • Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for other home health services and refer as appropriate.
  • Provide education to patients' families/caregivers and other healthcare personnel on treatment regimes.
  • Supervise certified occupational therapy assistants according to organizational policy and state regulations.
  • Participate in discharge planning for patients.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Registered with the National Registration Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Licensed to practice as an OT in the State of Florida.
  • Two years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Good verbal and written communication and organization skills.
  • Licensed driver with an automobile in good working order and insured according to organizational requirements.
