Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hospitalist Physician Assistant or Nursing Practitioner to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. This is a full-time opportunity to work in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and monitor patients under the supervision of a physician, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards.
  • Work under the supervision of Pediatric Hospitalists in the in-patient setting, participating in quality improvement projects and departmental committees.
  • Admit patients on behalf of the attending physician, perform patient histories and physical examinations, and evaluate and treat patients in the inpatient unit.
  • Write discharge summaries and assist the physician attending in providing adequate handoff to the primary care physician.
  • Perform basic pediatric procedures, including intravenous catheter placement, LP, nasogastric tube placement, bladder catheterization, etc.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
  • Physician Assistant License and Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
  • Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited program in nursing, Master's Degree, and experience in relevant patient care setting or as regulations dictate.
  • Experience as a pediatric Advanced Provider or fellowship training is highly considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Prepared Advanced Practice Nurse.
  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
