Job Title: Building and Residential Services Team Lead

Emory University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building and Residential Services Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for leading a team of custodians and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in our academic and residential environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of custodians in performing custodial duties, including cleaning, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Assist in providing technical knowledge and skills to team members, including training and development.
  • Inspect assigned areas to ensure quality of work and adherence to departmental standards.
  • Monitor daily work of team members for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Help instruct and train team members in the proper use of chemicals, supplies, equipment, procedures, and routines.
  • Ensure cleaning procedures and safety standards are followed.
  • Perform all essential duties and responsibilities of both Custodian and Senior Custodian positions.
  • Manage and control equipment and chemicals assigned to a specific location, responsible for maintaining a stocked supply closet.
  • Ensure all team members have the necessary and appropriate supplies and equipment to perform their jobs.
  • Assist with inventory control and distribute requisitioned material to assigned custodial closet and/or team.
  • Report staff concerns, areas of deficiency, and any need for building maintenance to the shift manager or O&M zone supervisor for appropriate action.
  • Coordinate support with fellow Team Leads embracing the larger mission of Building & Residential Services (BRS) and Campus Services.
Requirements:
  • A high school degree or equivalent (GED), and three years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to use a computer and mobile device for email communication, electronic timekeeping, and other basic systems.
  • Positions in this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
