Job Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is tasked with executing general upkeep and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, alongside managing grounds maintenance which encompasses electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting duties.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct minor repairs in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and painting as required.
  • Perform cleaning tasks within facilities as necessary.
  • Regularly inspect community areas to identify issues such as litter, mechanical failures, or breakdowns, and address repairs and cleaning needs.
  • Implement preventative maintenance strategies.
  • Maintain an inventory of repair tools and supplies.
  • Conduct inspections of offices and warehouses regularly or upon request from the Facilities Manager.
  • Diagnose and repair systems while completing preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor preventative maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, alert appropriate personnel, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Address maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure cleanliness of outdoor areas such as parking lots and walkways.
  • Manage waste disposal containers on company property.
  • Attend team meetings with the Facilities Manager three times a week.
  • Be prepared to perform maintenance across multiple locations.
  • Carry out additional maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Execute other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Possession of a valid State Driver's License.
  • Reliable means of transportation.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in plumbing, drywall, and painting tasks.
  • Electrical knowledge is essential.
  • Prior experience in a warehouse setting is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment effectively.
  • Must exhibit a team-oriented mindset to collaborate with other departments.
  • Capability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work weekends and after hours as necessary.
  • Experience operating various equipment, including lawn mowers and small hand tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to specified procedures.
