Job Summary

The Event Technician supports the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in the optimal execution of all aspects of technical support, production support, and service to all customers, both internal and external, in order to help ensure the successful execution of events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for events, including stage production and event setup.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of venues, including painting, replacement of light bulbs, and other tasks.
  • Support promotional elements of productions, such as gift bag stuffing and placement, marketing set ups/tear downs, and catering set ups/tear downs.
  • Maintain clean and safe areas at all times and adhere to a clean as you go policy.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding needs or suggestions to improve the implementation of assigned duties.
  • Communicate concerns/observations regarding the safety and proper use of equipment.
  • Communicate with production staff regarding event details, including schedule and crew positions.
  • Perform non-stage related work, including janitorial services, facilities maintenance, parking services, and event runner duties.
  • Assist production staff in executing production/operations/event services for each event.
  • Responsible for accurately clocking in and out for each shift.
  • Develop positive working relationships with staff to ensure effective and consistent application of production guidelines.
