About the Role:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will operate within the framework of the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, delivering care that respects the individual needs of each patient—physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

Working collaboratively with healthcare providers and Registered Nurses, the LPN will be responsible for implementing patient care plans while adhering to the organization’s policies and standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

Welcome and guide patients to examination rooms Measure and document vital signs Conduct patient interviews and record medical histories Provide educational materials to patients as directed by healthcare providers Prepare patients for examinations and assist with procedures as needed Perform laboratory specimen collection and testing as required.

Administer medications (excluding IV medications) as per provider orders Change dressings and remove sutures/staples as directed Assist in emergency situations under the guidance of a provider.

Maintain a clean and organized patient care environment while ensuring compliance with all federal regulations and HIPAA guidelines.


Administrative Duties:

Manage patient communications, including screening and routing calls Document patient care activities in accordance with professional standards.


Chart Preparation:

Ensure patient charts are complete and organized for appointments.


Appointment Management:

Schedule patient appointments and tests, verify insurance coverage, and manage referral processes.

Conduct regular inspections of exam rooms and equipment to ensure readiness and safety.

Maintain accurate logs and records, participate in required training, and pursue continuing education as necessary.


Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing Current, valid nursing license in Ohio, with IV certification preferred Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous Strong communication skills Current BLS/CPR certification and maintenance of credentials.

Demonstrated clinical and administrative skills, including phlebotomy, patient care, and vital sign assessment.

Exceptional customer service abilities and the capacity to work effectively within a team environment.

Basic computer proficiency is required, with experience in electronic medical records preferred.
